01/10/2007: New Associate Announcement

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Prof. Dr. Michael Paroussis as new Associate, with effect from 15 October 2007. We have started this very promising cooperation following a strategy of diversification in the range of services offered to our clients and aiming to keep our high level standards and skills at a time of fast technological developments and changes in the field of communications, which characterize the information society. The short profile below includes the nature of our new Associate’s practice.

Prof. Dr. Michael Paroussis graduated with a degree in Law from the National University of Athens in 1981. Having obtained a DEA at the University of Paris II/Panthéon Sorbonne (1983), with special studies in Legal Informatics, he passed at the same year the Athens Bar exam. He continued his postgraduate studies as a scholar of the Greek National Scholarships Foundation and later of the Federal State of Baden-Württemberg at the Albert-Ludwigs University of Freiburg/Germany. He has been awarded for his PhD thesis on "Legal Discourse Epistemology” with the Carl-von-Rotteck Price 1992 and with the European Award for Legal Theory 1994. From 1991-2000 he has been Assistant Professor for Civil Law and Legal Theory at the University of Freiburg. From 2000-2004 he has become a member of the Freiburg Bar Association and has cooperated with the Law Firm Lübbert, Haaf, Beeretz, Berst und Kollegen. In 2004 he has been appointed as Associate Professor for Legal Theory at the University of Patras, where he also teaches Applied Ethics. Until joining our Law Firm he has practiced at the Law Firm Panoussis, Sfikakis and Associates specialising in Commercial and Finance Law.
